February seems to be a busy month for the Department of Information and Computer Technology (DICT). Last February 8-10, 2017, the department joins the school in celebrating its 17th Founding Anniversary with a theme “Seventage of Excellence in Transforming Lives”. The IT students participates in the different events during the said celebration and some of those who excel, Jamiel Belarmino- Doble Kara 3rd placer, Romaisa Said - Oration 1st placer, Leah Jane Desaparado - Miss BC Top 7, and Aireen Fe Himaya - Miss BC 1st Runner-up and 2nd placer in the Bulletin Board Design.
In the same month, the department also celebrated its Technology Days dated February 16-17, 2017 with a theme “Technology: A tool for Development and Empowerment” participated by the IT students from all levels and senior high school ICT tracks students. For two days the third floor hallway of the Benedicto College took on a festive ambiance, a very welcoming gesture to everybody passing the way. The celebration was composed of activities that surely student learned and enjoyed, some of these were quiz bowl, PC assembly and installation, document formatting, DICT got talent, short film festival, poster making etc.. Students took the occasion as an opportunity to showcase their talents and skills related to their course. It was an experience that served as inspiration that anybody can excel in doing what they can do best with perseverance and determination. Overall, the DICT days, showcased camaraderie, teamwork, knowledge and application of learning acquired. It was an experienced that everybody enjoyed and it will be something to look forward to in the years to come.
