Success is a series of stairs, stairs and stairs

In the past years, Benedicto College students from the Department of Accountancy, Business and Management (DABM) have shown competitiveness in extracurricular activities and competitions. The Junior Philippine Institute of Accountants- BC Chapter (JPIA-BD Chapter) showed aggressiveness in the recent CF JPIA Accountancy Week held last July 16, 2017. 3rd Year accountancy students Kheneth De La Cruz and Ellah Marie Vallejos were 2nd place in the Accounting Quiz Bowl Level 1 while Rhea Mahusay, a 4th year accountancy student awarded the 10th place in the MAS Exam Challenge.

Meanwhile, Junior People Management Association (JPMAP) of the Philippines Benedicto College Chapter had several successful seminars in the 1st semester of school year 2017. “Forward- Making a Difference Together Towards Tomorrow.”, is a collaborative seminar headed by our very active student body organizations JPMAP-BC Chapter and their adviser Mr. David Parcasio, HM Society and their adviser Ms. Mae Carmela Melencion, JMACS and DABM council headed by yours truly. The said seminar was all about achieving dreams and making dreams into reality, inviting professional guest speakers to inspire people from all walks of life, Benedicto’s ABM students, students from other schools and other representatives. The hype of the event continued up until the JPMAPs’ 8th summit held last September 24, 2017 at Mariners Court Cebu. The summit was attended by all the accredited JPMAP member schools in the entire Cebu, united in one, sharing the same passion: to inspire, to lead and to succeed.

Passion for CHANGE has always been the mantra of DABM (Department of Accountancy, Business and Management), and this year, through the active organization of HM Society and Events and Banquet Management led by their adviser Ms. Mae Carmela Melencion, the Livelihood Opportunity Through Entrepreneurial Skills Training Creating Breakthrough within Communities, has come to reality, inviting representatives from Baranggay Bakilid, Mandaue City for a fun filld yet full of learning seminar about entrepreneurship and siomai and skinless making for sustainable living. The seminar was very successful that the group wanted to have more similar sessions.

Success does not lie in results, being the best is not so important but doing the best is all that matters, winning 3rd place in Live Pasta Making and 2nd place in Market Basket Competition in the recently concluded Cefbex 9th Cebu Food and Beverages Exposition last October 12-15, 2017 at SM City Cebu is not bad at all, still it gives honor and prestige, competing with other universities and colleges is not easy, and it was overwhelming to be able to beat them. Winners never thought they could win, for time was against them, but their coach Mr. David Parcasio believed that working hard and sacrificing will lead to success and it never failed them. Kudos to the 3rd placers of Live Pasta Making: Prince Gaces, Jerome Calisang and Queenie Godinez and the 2nd placers for Market Basket: Zenaida Bragat, Rizalie Mongaya, Jennirose Recaplaza and Jerome Barazon, DABM and the Benedicto College community are proud of you.

It is true, to achieve success, never DREAM for it, but rather WORK for it.
